Events
Upcoming online plenary on 20 November 2025
The next CoARA France plenary, to be held online on November 20, 2025, will focus on two major themes related to the reform of research assessment.
A round table will address the links between social responsibility, ecology, and research assessment. It will explore initiatives and tools that aim to integrate environmental issues into scientific and institutional practices, drawing on concrete case studies and experiences.
The second part of the plenary will highlight how communities of practice are organized in Canada within the framework of the research assessment reform. It will showcase initiatives designed to enhance the discoverability of French-language scientific content and to develop shared practices in support of a more visible, open, and inclusive science.
The full programme will be published very soon on www.coara.fr
Recent Events
The CoARA France Café held on 25 September 2025 highlighted the Open Science Monitoring Initiative (OSMI), presented by Laetitia Bracco (co-coordinator of OSMI, University of Lorraine).
In a landscape where open science is profoundly transforming practices, research assessment needs tools to track progress and challenges in this evolution. This is precisely the aim of OSMI, which is working to establish an international common framework for monitoring open science.
Activities
The French National Chapter is strengthening its communication and visibility by implementing new tools to share its news, projects, and events with the community.
It is now active on social media, including LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/coara-chapitre-national-français) and Bluesky (@coara-france.bsky.social), and has created a ‘News’ section on its official website, centralising announcements, project highlights, and feedback on activities.
These initiatives promote exchange and participation, facilitate the sharing of experiences and best practices in research assessment, and enrich the collective reflection of the French Chapter.
